Vietnam has three major operators: Viettel, Vinaphone and MobiFone. The mobile infrastructure has grown rapidly, especially since 5G launched in 2024.

• 5G: Available in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Hai Phong and Can Tho with speeds of 100–500 Mbps.
• 4G/LTE: Covers 99.8% of the population, including the northwestern highlands, Central Highlands, Phu Quoc and Con Dao.

• Seasons: North — autumn (Oct–Nov) and spring (Mar–Apr) are best. Center — January–August is dry. South — dry season is November–April.
